About CALOR
Calor means warmth.
A merino sauna hat, made by someone who couldn't find one good enough to wear.
How it started
It started on the top bench.
CALOR was started by someone who takes his health seriously. Training, good food, early nights, and a few sauna sessions every week became part of the routine.
The more he went, the more he wanted to get the most out of every session. And the same thing kept cutting them short: his head. Heat rises, so the hottest air in the room sits right where your head is. Long before the rest of him was ready to leave, his head was telling him to get out.
A sauna hat was the obvious answer, so he went looking. What he found was thin, synthetic felt. Flimsy shapes with a loop sewn on top. Colours nobody would choose. Nothing felt premium, and nothing felt like something you'd want to be seen in.
So he made the one he wanted.
100% New Zealand merino, felted thick to around 3mm, shaped into a soft bucket hat and finished by hand. In four colours you'd actually choose, made for the people who are making sauna part of their week.
The heat is having a moment
Sauna culture is growing fast in Australia.
A few years ago, a sauna was something in the corner of the gym. Now bathhouses are booked out on weekends, backyard barrels are going up in suburbs, and catching up with friends over a sauna and cold plunge is the new coffee. CALOR is made for that ritual.
