Why wear a hat in the sauna?
Hot air rises, so your head sits in the hottest part of the sauna. A thick wool hat insulates your head and hair from that direct heat, which most people find makes sessions more comfortable.
What is the CALOR sauna hat made from?
100% New Zealand merino wool, hand-felted into a dense felt approximately 3mm thick, with an embroidered CALOR logo.
Why merino wool for a sauna hat?
Wool is a natural insulator that breathes and handles heat and moisture well. Merino has fine, crimped fibres that felt into a dense, soft layer.
What size is it?
One size fits most adults, men and women. The felt relaxes slightly to your head with wear.
Should I wet the hat first?
You can. Many people dampen their hat with cool water and wring it out for an extra cooling feel. It works dry too.
How do I care for it?
Rinse in cool water, gently reshape and air dry away from direct heat. Don't machine wash or tumble dry. Hang it between sessions so it can breathe.
Does it work in infrared saunas?
Yes. It suits traditional, wood-fired and infrared saunas.
Do bundles have to be the same colour?
No. Mix any colours. 2 hats save 10%, 3 hats save 15% and 4 hats save 20%, and shipping is free on 2 or more.
How much is shipping?
Standard shipping within Australia is $9.95, or free on orders of $70 or more (any 2 hats). Express is $15.
What is your returns policy?
If you're not happy, return your hat within 14 days of delivery for a refund. We cover return shipping within Australia.
